4. Sole Legal Custody: Sole legal custody means that one parent has the exclusive right and responsibility to make major decisions regarding the child’s health, education, and welfare. The other parent may have visitation rights but does not have the right to make major decisions about the child. Like all other forms of custody a final order can be modified upon a showing of a change in circumstances.
