Malicious Injury to Property Oklahoma Property Offenses
Okla. Stat. tit. 21 § 1760

Crime:
In Oklahoma, it is unlawful to maliciously injure, deface or destroy any real or personal property belonging to another.

Punishment:

  • Destruction of Property Valued less than $2,500  Destruction of property valued less than $2,500 is a misdemeanor.

  • Destruction of Property Valued $2,500 or more  Destruction of property valued $2,500 or more is a felony

 

 

Title 21. Crimes and Punishments 
Chapter 69 - Malicious Mischief 
Section 1760 - Maliciously Defacing Property of Another - Penalty - Civil Action 

A. Every person who maliciously injures, defaces or destroys any real or personal property not his own, in cases other than such as are specified in Section 1761 et seq. of this title, is guilty of: 

1. a misdemeanor, if the damage, defacement or destruction causes a loss which is valued at less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00); or 2. a felony, if the damage, defacement or destruction causes a loss which is valued at Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) or more. 

B. In addition to any other punishment prescribed by law for violations of subsection A of this section, he is liable in treble damages for the injury done, to be recovered in a civil action by the owner of such property or public officer having charge thereof.
