What
happens if I do not include all my assets in my bankruptcy?
You
need to be sure to list all assets, even ones that you think nobody
cares about. Failure to do so could result in jail time. The Department
of Justice does not look kindly on fraud in a bankruptcy petition. If
you're not sure about something, err on the side of thoroughness and
full disclosure. You do not want the hassle of amending your assets
later or trying to explain to the trustee or Department of Justice why
you neglected to include in your schedules the old fork-lift in the back
that you later sold for $1,500.
